Despite many things I would want to say, I need to complete this China Trip first cause the next trip is less than a month away. If you are my faithful follower you tend to see this pattern in me, a few leisure posts followed by a frenzied finish just in time for the next trip. HA HA HA HA... terrible me.
Many people say, if you never get conned, you haven't been to China. We have been conned, therefore we can safely said we did land in China and not some man made island. Partly cause we are sick of planning and decided to just grab some ground tour in Beijing. At first thought to take the hotel package but it's kinda pricey so we decided to scout around and bought one that looked trustworthy. Well news flash, a lot of fake things in China looks real, we were warned by this friendly Shanghai couple later that night the package that we took is a hoax. They will bring you to some ruins and claim it's the Great Wall. Luckily we know about it before the trip starts and unluckily it was 11.00pm when we knew- too late to make other arrangements. Anyway undeterred, we went home and google. Many will tell you, you can reach the Great Wall by bus but many didn't tell you there is a fake bus that looks exactly like the real bus. Few know you can go by train too. In the end it's the route me and Cousin Rain took and the rest they said is history.

The Great Wall is indeed magnificent. It was largely preserved in its original state which translates into government no money to upgrade, so you are warned to lean at your own risk. The smart us, bought some food along the way so that we can eat as we climb which is absolutely essential as climbing them does burn a lot of energy especially some places are as steep as 90 degrees I kid you not. There are a few entrances to choose from and we climb from the one nearest to Beijing- Ba Da Ling. It took around 1.5hours by train.
My dearest Didi who is now in Beijing, I urge you to drop by the Great Wall, truly an experience you don't want to miss. Now I have been to 2 Wonders of the World (Colosseum and Great Wall).
